Confetti New Years Eve Look

Hey everyone! I hope your holidays have been filled with family, food and joy. Since new years eve is just around the corner, I've been seeing everyone doing some kind of look for NYE using glitter so I thought I'd try it myself.

I bought some glitter from Eye Kandy cosmetics last year at IMATS in Pasadena but its just been sitting in my drawer since then so i thought why not give it some love?! The holidays, especially New Years eve is all about the the Glitz and Glam (or at least I think so) and I think it's fun to jazz up your look with some glitter. This is my first time using glitter on my eyes, well applying it myself so it was a bit tricky to use so it didn't come out exactly as I envisioned it. I still liked how it looked though. I tried it out at IMATS but one of the Eye Kandy Employees applied it as a liner on me.

For this look I used the Super Fine Glitter from Eye Kandy cosmetics in the shade Confetti which is a pretty holographic color.  I love it and the pictures don't do it justice. I left my lips neutral/nude since the glitter is already an attention getter. All shadows I used were from both Urban Decays Naked and Naked2 palette.

my eyes started to water, hence the creasing in the inner corners =(

A Naked 2 FOTD

The other day I decided to play with my Naked 2 palette. Most of the colors I used were on the right side of the palette which are cool toned shades. I just used UD primer potion underneath, although I should have added A paint pot or other base to make it more vibrant as UDPP alone doesn't hold up to my super oily lids. I couldn't get my liner as straight and precise as I used to because my fingers were starting to cramp up got more numb due to my peripheral neuropathy. It's a challenge every time I apply makeup but I try my best.

Anyways, here's what I came up with...

Products used
Face:
Urban Decay Urban Defense tinted moisturizer in Bulletproof
Revlon Age Defying Moisturizing concealer (under the eyes)
MAC Studio fix powder in NC35
MAC Accentuate/Sculpt Duo ( to contour my chubby cheeks =P )
Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in Exposed
Eyes:
MUFE Brow corrector in shade #3
UDPP
All shadows from the Naked 2 palette
Verve (lid, inner corner and lower lash line)
Pistol (middle of lid, lower lash line)
Busted (outer corner)
Blackout (to deepen the outer corner and crease and lower lash line)
Tease (crease transition)
Foxy (brow bone highlight)
Essence Midnight in Paris gel eyeliner
Miss Adoro lashes 747m
Lips:
  MAC Viva Glam II l/s
NYX Mega shine l/g in Sugar Pie

I also changed tried this with a bold lip using Cover Girl lip perfection in Spellbound. This such a BAM! in your face color and I'm so used to wearing nude or MLBB shades so I'm not as comfortable wearing any bold lip colors cause I feel like I look like a clown since my lips are already big. I heard this shade is a dupe for MACs Girl About Town, which I've been wanting to try but I figure I'd ease my way into wearing bold lips by trying out drugstore lippies first so that I don't waste my money on the more expensive brands.

What do you think? Did any of you get the Naked 2 palette?

December MyGlam Bag

Hey everyone! I wanted to share with you my first MyGlam bag. If you don't know what it is or haven't heard, it's one of those monthly subscription services where you will receive 4-5 beauty deluxe samples or full size products and a cute makeup bag for $10 a month or you can save $20 and get a year subscription for $100. MyGlam was created by The well known Michelle Phan of YouTube and other popular YouTube gurus like AndreasChoice, Jessica Harlow, Promise Phan and Bethany of Macbarbie07.

I first heard about this when I was watching AndreasChoices' video announcement on YouTube. She mentioned how she and the other gurus will customize each bag according to the quiz you take on their website. From what I noticed, everyone received pretty much the same products. The only thing that differed was the color or the lip cream and the Mai Couture blotting papier. You get to preview the bag of the month which is a plus because I believe you can choose to skip a month if you don't like the items. This is their first month, so hopefully its not useless stuff in the bags to come. I don't know how they're gonna go about this for the future bags but either way I'm happy with the products I received.

It was sent in a cute pink bubble mailer which i like. I hate wasteful packaging unless it needs excess cushion, then that's understandable. This months bag came with 3 full size products and 2 deluxe samples which makes it such a steal! The makeup bag also has a small mirror attached to it which can be handy if u forgot your compact at home.

Here's the list and price break down with links:
Retail price: $20
2. Urban Decay eyeshadow in the color Sin ( a light shimmery pink champagne , great for everyday )
Retail price: $17
Retail price: $9
4. NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in the color Istanbul ( a light cool pink )
Retail price: $6
5. Tarte lights, camera, lashes! Mascara sample
6. Mai Couture Blush papier sample in Sunset Blvd.

The value adds up to $52!

Also during each month, they will be uploading videos using the products we received that month.

I can't wait to see what's in January's bag! Check out MyGlam and try it out!

UD Naked 2 palette, swatches, comparisons and thoughts

Here it is, The much anticipated Naked 2...

top row: Naked 2 (Foxy is all the way on the top left but blends into my skin)
Bottom row: Original Naked palette

Being the beauty junkie that I am, I was stalking Urban Decays Facebook page and kept checking my email for the notification or announcement that it's finally available to purchase. So when I saw on their Facebook page saying that it was available, I went to their website, added 2 to my cart and waited about 2-3 minutes debating if I was going to get just 1 or 2. Not for the purpose of reselling at a ridiculous price because I think that's just wrong to do but I was thinking about getting an extra one as a gift for my sister but I wanted to see it for myself first. Thank goodness I didn't wait any longer as I removed 1 and eagerly placed my order because after that, the website started to slow down like crazy and you could see everyone complaining on the UD Facebook page. Can't blame them though, I'd be upset too.

This palette has been hyped so much and sold out just as fast as the original. I missed out on the first when it was initially released and finally got my hands on it in January when the craziness died down. As much as Urban Decay hyped it up & kept us folks on our feet about it's debut, you would of thought they would have been prepared for the rush and have more then 5,000 available to the public right? Unfortunately they didn't which I don't understand why when the first one did so well.

One thing that annoyed me was the repeat of Half Baked. Also I could have done without the lip gloss as it doesn't really show up on my pigmented lips and have a mini primer potion instead. The brush is a great addition though and I much prefer this version than it's predecessor because of the matte black and the matte cream color but i wish there were a few more matte shades. If you have the first one, I personally don't think you have to go out of your way to get this since most of the shades are similar. So just wait till they have em available again. I fathom the thought of someone overpaying for a neutral palette. Overall I think it's a great palette to have in your personal stash.

FOTN: Gold and Purple

Hey everyone! I thought I'd share my FOTN from Saturday night. I went to one of my cousins house for a White Elephant holiday party on Saturday so I felt like wearing some color on my eyes. I kept the rest of my face neutral just so that I wouldn't look too bright. Unfortunately I hella forgot to take a close up pic before I left since I was in a hurry so the 2 I have here my blush faded.

a snap shot from my Mac.
You can see me blush more here... I look so pale next to her!
